DECEMBER: Wintering

This month, we’re focusing on wintering the practice of slowing down, conserving energy, and giving yourself the space to reset. December often becomes hectic, but winter itself encourages steadiness, clarity, and deliberate rest. Wintering is about recognising your limits, choosing quiet when you need it, and creating space for recovery. It’s a time to step back from constant output and allow your body and mind to recharge. Our yoga practice this month supports that: simple movements, intentional pauses, and routines that help you stay centred through a full and often demanding season.

Recommended Props: Mat, blocks, blanket, cushion, eye pillow, comfortable layers.

Your Monthly Rhythm:

📅 Week 1: Restorative for Deep Rest: A fully supported restorative pose designed to calm the nervous system and promote recovery.

📅 Week 2: Slow & Low Flow: Grounded movement, longer holds and steady pacing to reduce overwhelm and re-establish presence.

📅 Week 3: Yin for Inner Quiet: Focused yin work for the hips, spine, and shoulders, emphasising stillness, breath, and mental clarity.

📅 Week 4: Breathwork & Meditation Reset: A simple, structured practice using breathwork and guided meditation to restore focus and prepare for the year ahead.
